As a Certified Burris Life Coach I agree to adhere to the following Ethics and Standards set forth by THE Burris Life Coach.

1) I fully understand that THE Burris Life Coach is NOT psychotherapy, it is a Program Process. I will always make this perfectly clear to my clients by providing them with THE Burris Life Coach Client Agreement.

2) THE Burris Life Coach does not dictate to a client. THE Burris Life Coach is designed to empower my clients to make decisions that work the best for them. THE Burris Life Coach may give the client a recommendation if asked or THE Burris Life Coach may ask the client if he or she would like a recommendation. THE Burris Life Coach will never give a recommendation without first being asked or by asking the client.

3) Should I integrate other modalities into THE Burris Life Coach session I will notify the client of this and inform them of which modalities other than THE Burris Life Coach that I will use.

4) Should I integrate other modalities into a THE Burris Life Coach session without informing the client I will be subject to the possible loss of my Burris Life Coach Certification.

5) Prior to an initial session I will make sure my client fully understands the process of THE Burris Life Coach, the bounds of confidentiality, financial arrangements and other terms of THE Burris Life Coach Client Agreement.

6) I will accurately identify my qualifications and experience.

7) I will never mislead or make false claims about what my client will receive from me or the coaching process.

8) I will respect the client’s right to terminate my services at any point of the process.

9) If I believe the client would be better served by another coach, or by another resource, I will encourage the client to make a change.

10) I will suggest that my clients seek the services of other professionals when deemed appropriate or necessary.

11) I will take all reasonable steps to notify the appropriate authorities in the event a client discloses an intention to endanger self or others.

12) I will respect the confidentiality of my client's information, except as otherwise authorized by my client, or as required by law.

13) Whenever a third party is used to process the data of a study I will make sure that all personal information is removed from the data collection.

14) I will obtain an agreement from my clients before releasing their name as clients or references, or any other client identifying information.

15) I will not sell or release my client’s phone, email, home address or any other personal information without the approval of the client.

16) The Emotional Checklists and the Step 7 CD are provided to the CBLC as part of their marketing package and the CBLC is free to print or copy as they see fit. Every CBLC will be licensed to copy as many of “THE Burris Life Coach” for Adults and Ages 7-17 as they need for their clients only. No one has the right to distribute the PDF version of these documents except the company of THE Burris Life Coach.

17) I will not become sexually involved with any of my clients.
